REASON FOR TREATMENT:
Celine suffered spinal cord trauma after diving into a shallow pool nearly 6 months ago.
DIAGNOSIS: Spinal Cord Injury (Cervical segments) ASIA A ( complete injury )
BEGINNING OF TREATMENT: March 1st, 2007
CONDITION BEFORE THE TREATMENT:
After her injury, Celine could only sit up with the aid of others, and only for ten minutes before feeling faint. She suffered from serious shoulder pain and Algesia in her left thumb. She had no sensation when relieving herself. She had no feeling or movement below chest level.
AFTER TREATMENT:
For the first two months of treatment, Celine only received the cocktail treatment in order to promote the proliferation and activation of her own stem cells. Celine´s shoulder pain was significantly relieved and her Algesia disappeared. She regained sensation during bowel movements and urination. Superficial feeling improved. She now has sensation in her toes. Her wrists can move and fingers have become flexible, so she can use computer now. The biggest improvement is that she can lift her arms, so she is now able to move herself into a sitting position, which is very important to her. She can take off her glasses and brush her teeth by herself. She can shake her friends hands. Her thenar muscles were flat before treatment; they are stronger and plumper now. She regained feeling in her feet just 3 months after treatment.
All of these improvements have improved her quality of life. Above all, she and her family feel very hopeful. They hope she can walk someday. She plans to stay in PUHUA until 2008.

Celine has already received 3 times stem cell injection in China stem cells medical center. Analysis and summary by her mother:
"The First time (a Friday): after operation, she felt very tired and she had a long rest during the weekend, so there was no ill reaction
The second time: (a Tuesday) She did not pay much attention to the doctors instructions this time and she joined the rehabilitation treatment the day after the operation. So she felt a little sick to her stomach.
The third time: she decided on Friday again, because she wanted a good rest the days after treatment.
Celine said, there was no obvious reaction after the last injection. She got a slight headache, her heartbeat was slower than normal in the morning and she did not sleep very well, but all of these symptoms disappeared over the next few days. She happily reported: I can control the movement of my feet on today´s rehabilitation treatment!"

When Celine did the rehabilitation lesson on the standing bed, she was able to hold the column toy bricks and put them back into the hole! That is the first time she can hold things after the stem cells.
